Azerbaijan President Expressed Satisfaction With Dynamic Development Of Relations Between Baku And Astana

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev accepted the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhasa Bektenov.

Aliyev at the meeting expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of relations between Baku and Astana, covering many spheres.

The head of state noted that a number of important issues were agreed on SOR29, as well as projects that will bring two countries even more.

The President expressed hope for a detailed discussion of important projects during the visit of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan to the country, the implementation of the agreements reached and the continuation of close cooperation in all directions in the future.

He noted that the peoples of the AR and the Republic of Kazakhstan are fraternal peoples, which has been repeatedly proved throughout the history of relations.

Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are fraternal states demonstrating good indicators in the field of socio-economic development.

The President also touched the important role of the two countries in the international arena, in the region and in a wider space.

In turn, Olzhas Bektenov noted that the governments of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are making efforts to implement the agreements reached between the presidents of the two countries. In this context, he said that in accordance with the instructions of the heads of state, active work is underway on the development of the Trans -Caspian multimodal transport route, and noted that the cargo flow along this route last year increased by 60 percent.

During the conversation, the development of a comprehensive cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan was expressed, it is emphasized that over the past three years, the annual trade turnover has increased almost three times between our countries, and the growth of freight transportation, including transit, along transport corridors, has continued. Issues of support for investment projects were discussed through a joint investment fund created in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, the implementation of joint projects in the oil and gas field, including the prospects for increasing the volume of Kazakhstani oil transportation through the Baku-Tbilisi-Jajan pipeline. There were also discussions on the connection of the energy systems of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan through an underwater cable line as part of an agreement signed on SOR29 in the field of green energy and the development of cooperation in the field of green energy.
