In the Swiss Nyon, the draw took place for the main qualifying round of the World Cup 2024 on Futsal.
Azerbaijani team, which was during the draw in the first (strongest) basket, got into the 6th group along with Poland and Greece.
36 teams were divided into 12 groups. Games will be held in two circles at home and visiting. Matches will take place in September, October, November of this year, as well as in February-March 2023. The 12 winners of the groups and the four best participants who took second place will reach the elite round. The remaining eight who took second place will play in the playoffs.
In the elite round, 20 teams will be divided into five groups. Group winners will receive direct tickets at the World Cup. The four best teams that took 2nd places will play in butt matches. If the right to organize the World Cup is entrusted to the European country, then two best teams will play in butt matches.
