The Azerbaijani Court sentenced the two citizens of Armenia on July 7, accused of violating the state border and committing serious crimes.
Armenian military Arutyun Ovagimyan and Karen Ghazaryan, who violated the state border in the border Zangilan district of Azerbaijan, were convicted of 11 years and 6 months each.
The prosecutor demanded for the defendants 12 years in prison.
According to the investigation, the armed sabotage group of the Armenian Armed Forces tried to penetrate on May 26 into the territory of Azerbaijan in the area of the village of Razdar of the Zangilalan district, but was timely identified. All actions of the Armenian military were suppressed.
