Between Azerbaijan and Turkey, a preliminary agreement was reached on the purchase of a terrestrial combat robot Barkan, reports Report.
According to the project leader of the Turkish company Havelsan Weissel Ataoglu, the corresponding negotiations between the two countries took place as part of the Saha Expo defense exhibition in Istanbul: “In the near future, the Barkan’s ground -based combat robot will go into service with the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan,” Ataoglu said.
It is noted that the Barkan manufactured by the Turkish company Havelsan and the weighing of 380 kg is able to transport or towing goods, provide close protection, armed reconnaissance, undermining mines and unexploded ammunition. Barkan, the first sample of which was made in March-April of this year, successfully passed tests in the Turkish Armed Forces.
