Since the beginning of this year, the total passenger flow of international airports in Azerbaijan has exceeded 2 million people. In June this year alone, 530 thousand people were served at the country’s airports, which is 96% of the 2019 Dopandemium indicator, the press service of the International Airport Heydar Aliyev said.
The basic air carriers of the Baku airport – AZAL and Buta Airways have been transported 618 and 201 thousand passengers, respectively. Of these, 457 thousand are passengers of international flights, this is 36% of the total volume of international transport.
In June 2022, 24 foreign airlines made regular flights to the Baku airport. Also this month, Salam Air Airlines opened direct flights from Muskat to Baku.
The ten most popular international areas from Baku included Istanbul, Moscow, Dubai, Tbilisi, Antalya, Abu Dhabi, Er-Riyad, Ankara, Sharja and Minsk.
