On November 16, regular political consultations took place between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and the Federal Republic of Germany, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reports.
The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Halaf Halafov, the Delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany – the Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry on Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia Matthias Lyutenberg.
In the course of consultations, the current state of ties between the two countries was analyzed, an exchange of views on the prospects for cooperation was carried out. There was a lot of opportunities for the development of bilateral economic relations. Also discussed relations in the areas of culture, science and education, the activities of the German service of academic exchanges (DAAD) and the center of Goethe in Baku were positively appreciated.
Halafov informed in detail the opposite side of the situation in the region after the 44-day war and the signing of trilateral statements, the scale of destruction on the liberated territories and the work on restoration and creating works.
Lyutenberg expressed satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan. He noted that his country is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in various fields.
Parties discussed issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany in the framework of international organizations.
At the meeting, there was also an exchange of views on other regional and international issues representing mutual interest.
