Azerbaijani and Iranian customs officers signed an action plan to expand cooperation

The customs authorities of Azerbaijan and Iran signed an action plan to expand cooperation and mutual assistance in the customs sector to 2022-2023. The document was signed according to the results of negotiations between the chairman of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan Safar Mekhtiev and the Minister of Customs Iran Alirza Mugadadashi.

The Office for Relations with the Press and Public Customs Committee was informed by Haqqin.az that at first the Azerbaijani and Iranian delegations examined the Dzhulfinsky Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The head of the Customs Service of Iran, Minister of Customs Iri Alirza Mugadasi said that friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Iran are also covering customs issues. This allows you to expand bilateral relations and trade, simplify and accelerate the procedures.

Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan Safar Mekhtiev emphasized the importance of historical and cultural relations, economic and trade relations between countries.

At the meeting, the parties also discussed the minimization of customs control forms between Azerbaijan and Iran, applied to vehicles passing through the territory of the two countries; The implementation of interaction to ensure the speed of freight vehicles and the expansion of cooperation in the direction of mutual recognition of the results in the field of customs control.

The parties also discussed the implementation of the Memorandum of Mutual understanding between the Government of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to establish new routes between the East-Zangesur economic district of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchyansk Autonomous Republic “dated March 11, 2022.

Then, between the State Customs Committee of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a plan of measures was approved to expand cooperation and mutual assistance in the customs sphere to 2022-2023.
