Azerbaijani diaspora requires Armenia to answer

Azerbaijani diaspora organizations made an appeal to international organizations in connection with mass burials discovered in the village of Edily Khojavender district.

The statement says:

“We, Azerbaijanis living in foreign countries, with deep indignation met the news of the detection of mass burial on the territory of the village of Edily Khojavender district and evaluate this as the exposure of the next military crime of Armenia.

We inform you that the mass burial found in the village of Edilly Khojavender district, which was freed from the occupation of the brave Azerbaijani army in 2020 as a result of the 44-day second Karabakh war, is not the first in the account.

The detection of 12 human remains in this grave, which were massively buried by hand and foot with wire and ropes, gives reason to believe that in total, the number of people whose remains were discovered from mass burials in Eddile reached 25. The fact that these persons are military personnel, judging by their clothes and things, confirms numerous statements about the torture and killings of Azerbaijani prisoners of war.

The discovered remains belong to the Azerbaijanis who were missing during the first Karabakh war, whose fate is still unknown. However, despite the repeated calls, the Armenian side refused to provide information about the fate of these persons, as well as about the places of mass burials of Azerbaijanis in order to hide the war crimes committed by it from the world community.

We emphasize that the detection of such burials openly exposes war crimes committed by the armed forces of Armenia on the basis of ethnic hatred – with the use of torture and acts against humanity in relation to the Azerbaijani civilian population, especially the wounded and dead, grossly violating the requirements of international law, The norms of international humanitarian law, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions on the Protection of the Victims of War and demonstrates their inhuman behavior and a policy of genocide. There are numerous facts confirming the brutal murder of Azerbaijani prisoners of war by Armenian military personnel at point blank range in the head and heart, robberies, the dismemberment of the bodies of soldiers, inhuman acts of torture and humiliation during the first and second Karabakh wars. A striking example of this is a number of videos.
