Azerbaijani fighter Ruslan Nurullaev won a gold medal at the European Championship in Tirana.
The European Wrestling Championship among athletes under 23 years old ended in the capital of Albania – Tirana. According to the Azerbaijani State Media, on the last day of the competition, two fighters of the Azerbaijani team in the Greco-Roman wrestling went to decisive contractions.
20-year-old Ruslan Nurullaev (weight category up to 72 kg) in the final met with Russian Danil Grigoryev. Nurullaev, who won bronze at similar competitions in Baku last year, this time rose to the highest step of the pedestal. Azerbaijani fighter won with a score of 3: 2 and won the gold medal of the championship.
Elmin Aliyev (weight category up to 82 kg) failed to win the medal at debut competitions. In the fight for the bronze medal, he lost to Finn Johnny Sarkkinenu with a score of 1: 4.
