Holding military exercises within its international borders is the sovereign right of each state. This was stated by the press secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan Leila Abdullayeva, answering the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia about Azerbaijano-Turkish teachings in Lachin.
However, the Armenian Foreign Ministry saw in these exercises “discrepancy between the trilateral statement of November 10, 2020” and damage to peace and security in the region.
Abdullayeva noted that Azerbaijan spends numerous military exercises on its territory, including joint partner countries.
“The joint tactical teachings started in Lachin are a step of this kind and serve as stability in the region,” Abdullayev emphasized.
According to her, “the threat to the regional world and security is not to conduct military exercises by the state in its territory, and the territorial claims on other countries on the part of Armenia, which implements the policies of military aggression, occupation and violation of the principles of international law.” / P>
If Armenia really wants peace and security in the region, it must fulfill their obligations, summarized Azerbaijan diplomat.
