“drop-down volumes of deliveries to Russia of lemons, tangerines, peppers, grapes and pomegranates from Turkey and Iran can fill out suppliers from other countries.” This was stated by the deputy chairman of the Management Board “RSpectrodovoye” Dmitry Leonov, reports TASS.
Earlier it was reported that Rospotrebnadzor suspended the import to Russia from Turkey and Iran unsafe fruits and vegetables 33 producers of lemons, tangerines, peppers, grapes and pomegranates.
According to the organization, Turkey has become the largest supplier of mandarins, lemons, grapes and peppers to Russia in October 2021 and ranked second in terms of pomegranate supplies.
At the same time, the top of the main suppliers to Russia, Mandarins also includes South Africa, Morocco and Egypt, Limonov – Argentina and South Africa, grapes – Uzbekistan and Moldova, Pomegranates – Azerbaijan, Egypt, Uzbekistan and Abkhazia, Pepper – China.
In turn, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that it does not expect interruptions in the supply of these products to the domestic market, as well as prices in connection with a minor share of imports from closed enterprises.
“Currently, Russian importers work with a wide range of suppliers of fruits and vegetables from Turkey and other countries of the world,” noted in the department.
