The tourist capabilities of Azerbaijan are presented at Qatar Travel Mart, which opened in Doha on November 16. At the exhibition, which will last until November 18, Azerbaijani tourism bureau conducted a panel session dedicated to Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the session on the topic “How did a pandemic affect Azerbaijan tourism? Restoration of the tourism industry in the postpandemia era,”, Chief Executive Director of Azerbaijani Tourism Bureau Florian Sengstshmid told about the rich tourist potential of Azerbaijan, the prospects for the development of various types of tourism, plans to turn Karabakh in New tourist destination and digital campaigns for promotion in the Middle East.
In his speech, F. Zengstshmid stressed that Qatar is one of the target tourist markets for our country and noted the importance of conducting such events to promote tourism potential.
He spoke about new opportunities for cooperation with Qatar after the cancellation of the visa regime. He also noted the possibility of training special tourist packages that will allow parts of the fans who will arrive at the World Cup in Qatar in 2022, visit Azerbaijan.
At the event that held with the participation of representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Qatar, Qatar Airways Airlines, as well as representatives of the tourism industry, discussed bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar, the level of readiness of hotels in Azerbaijan for the postpandemia period, opening of new internationally class hotel, main tourist Products and new routes of Azerbaijan.
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the state of Qatar Rashad Ismailov visited the stand of Azerbaijan and got acquainted with the promoter.

For the first time, Qatar Travel Mart unites international, regional and national tourist organizations, airlines, tour operators, travel agencies, hotels and travel online companies, and wears the goal to improve competitiveness and strengthen cooperation in tourism.
The exhibition was attended by representatives of the tourist industry from 31 countries of the world.
Note that Qatar entered the number of 65 countries with which restrictions on travel due to the positive dynamics of the epidemiological situation were removed. In October of this year, the visa regime between the two countries was canceled with the signing of “Agreement on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for owners of civil passports” with Qatar.
