Oppositionist Jeyhun Zeynalov was convicted in the UK for sexual harassment, reports Haqqin.az with reference to Daily Mail.
34-year-old Zeynalov arrived at Foggy Albion in order to get political asylum. In England, he introduced himself as an opposition journalist, who was allegedly forced to leave Azerbaijan.
The case occurred in the city of Stoke-on-trent. According to the British edition, “Zeynalov met a woman suffering from mental illness, when she went to the store for sweets.”
He decided to speak with her and offered her to go drink. The woman refused. However, Zeynalov did not calm down. He bought a bottle of vodka and after the victim came out of the store, caught it again.
The prosecutor Ben Lawrence said that the man dragged her on the territory of the Church of St. Mark. “She was frightened and went there where he pointed it. He began to touch her. She refused to him, but at that moment he pulled his jacket with her and licked her chest. He tried to kiss her, but she was sure.”
Zeynalov tried to unzip the zipper on her jeans, but the woman managed to break out and leave the territory. The house was told about all his mother. She appealed to the police, and soon Zeynalov arrested.
The victim stated: “I regularly go to the store on foot. After this incident, I was anxious to go there. Now I am worried about the presence of strangers on the street. After what happened, my mother is very worried about me.”
It is reported that Jayun Zeynalov is a father of three children. As a shelter’s shelter, he reaches a weekly 198 pounds. Zeynalov was married for 13 years, but now lives separately. Initially, he did not recognize himself guilty, stating that everything happened by mutual agreement, but then still admitted.
The judge sentenced Zeynal to ten months in prison with a postponement of the execution of the sentence for 18 months and to a 30-day rehabilitation. He will also have to go through six-month treatment from alcohol dependence and spend 120 hours on unpaid work. In addition, Zeynalov was on 10 years old included in the list of persons who committed sexual crimes.
