Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation was discussed in Baku

A meeting of the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shakhbazov with a delegation led by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparlan Bayractar, a meeting of the Azerbaijan Energy Minister, was held as part of the Baku Energy Week.

The meeting expressed satisfaction with the contribution of the Azerbaijani-Turkish fraternity and strategic allies to strengthen energy cooperation. It was noted that the leaders of both countries attach great importance to Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation in the field of energy.

The parties discussed the role of jointly implemented energy projects in the field of oil and gas in ensuring the energy security of the region and European countries.

The ministers also considered priorities in the field of natural gas and green energy and projects on the agenda that ensure the development of multilateral energy partnership at a new stage.

The meeting said that in the near future the construction of the Ygdyr -Nakhchyan gas pipeline will be completed and by the end of this year the supply of Nakhchivan gas through the territory of Turkey.

The interlocutors emphasized that there is a multifaceted agenda of cooperation in the field of natural gas between Azerbaijan and Turkey, thanks to the corresponding intergovernmental agreement, there were opportunities for gas supplies from Azerbaijan and third countries to Turkey and Europe.

The meeting considered the current status of cooperation in the field of electricity transmission made from renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan, a roadmap under the project of Turkish-Azerbaijani interaction in Nakhchyan.

The parties noted the importance of the speedy finalization of the draft technical specifications with a working group engaged in the issues of electricity export to Turkey and Europe through Nakhchivan, and acceleration of the corresponding processes. Further steps are determined in this direction.

During the conversation, the IV Azerbaijano-Turkish Energy Forum was also mentioned, noted that regular events in this format will contribute to the development of cooperation in various directions.
