In the regional gymnasium of the German city of Hasfurt, the opening championship of Germany from Memory XL has been held. The winner of the competition was the Azerbaijani Orkhan Ibadov, who scored 5735 points and won the title of owner of the best memory in Germany.
In the competition, in addition to representatives of Germany and Azerbaijan, participants in four more countries performed. It was organized by the International Association of Memory. 2nd place was taken by the Italian Emanuel Renyani, the 3rd-Swiss Suzanna Hippauf.
Between Orhan Ibadov and Emanuel Renyani, a serious struggle unfolded. Orhan won thanks to a successful result in the last category, where he remembered the location of 52 playing cards in 32 seconds. As a result, the advantage of the Azerbaijani athlete over the Italian was 20 points.
of a total of ten categories, the phenomenon from Azerbaijan won five. For example, in 15 minutes he remembered the location of 860 digits, in 10 minutes – the location of the seven decks of playing cards, in 5 minutes – the location of 100 words, etc.
This is far from the first success of the 36-year-old Orhan Ibadov. In 2017, in Istanbul, he became the winner of the Memoriad competition. In December 2018, at the World Organ World Championships, he took a fairly high 11th place, entering a number of categories in the top ten and taking 1st place among athletes from the post-Soviet space.
Azerbaijani Megamozg also became a bronze medalist of the European Championship and successfully performed at tournaments in Denmark, Germany and the Philippines.
Today, Orhan Ibadov is among the 16 people with the best memory in the world. He also performs in the first Memory League division, which is in online format.
Orhan Ibadov graduated in 2007 by the Faculty of Law of the Baku State University. Has a master’s degree. Now lives in Barcelona. It is considered one of the best specialists in Spain in the field of electronic trade.
