August 24 in Tokyo will start the XVI summer Paralympic games. Azercell Telecom, which is a recognized partner of the National Paralympic Team, once again demonstrates its support for the Paralympic movement in our country.
It is noteworthy that the National Paralympic team represents Azerbaijan on these games with a record number of licenses. The National Paralympic team of Azerbaijan includes 35 athletes, including 23 men and 12 women. Our athletes will take part in the struggle for 47 sets of medals in 6 sports – judo, athletics, taekwondo, paueerlifting, swimming and shooting. At the opening ceremony this year, our team is the Paralympic champion Orohan Musaev.

Paralympic games that have great social importance and reflecting the moral values of society become one of the most important events of the world sports movement. special attention is paid to the Paralympic movement and in Azerbaijan. Azercell supports Children’s Paralympic Committee of Azerbaijan since 2014. Thanks to this support, about 200 children and adolescents are currently engaged in 10 sports, and also take part in mass sports events, local and international competitions. To support the integration of these children to society and increase their interest in sports, children’s paralympic games are held annually in our country with the participation of Azercell Telecom LLC.
Note that at the XVI summer paralympic games, which will last until September 5, 2021, take part,400 athletes from 136 countries. They will play 540 sets of medals in 22 sports. Until now, on the Paralympic Games, Azerbaijani athletes won a total of 38 medals, including 9 gold, 18 silver and 11 bronze.
