Azercell unfolds in Karabakh the base stations operating on solar energy.
The leading mobile operator expands its network throughout the country and introduces “green” technologies.
Following our strategic goal, we simplify access, expand the capabilities, ”Azercell continues to expand and modernize his network throughout Azerbaijan. The next stage of this large -scale project of a leading mobile operator implies the deployment of environmentally friendly technologies.
Azercell, using renewable energy sources to modify its base stations in the liberated territories, deployed the first LTE base stations in Karabakh, which receive power from solar energy. Thus, the stations in the Gubadly and Dzhebrail, who previously worked on the diesel generator, were equipped with solar panels for charging batteries. At the moment, 60% of the energy consumed by the base station is provided by solar energy. This guarantees more environmentally friendly equipment with a decrease in emission and less energy consumption. In total, until the end of 2023, Azercell plans to install 35 base stations operating on sunny batteries in Karabakh.
It is worth noting that Azercell is already using similar “green” stations in Gobustan and Tovuza.
Since August of this year, Azercell unfolded the 21st new base station in Baku and on Apheron, and also modernized 490 base stations in Gubadly, the village of Gadut, Jebrail, Zangilan, Terter, Bayglang, Agjabedi, Lerika, Hussar, Guba, Fizuli, Astara , Sheki, Yardymly, Gaha, Geychi and Lenkorani.
As part of the project being implemented, the leading mobile operator will deploy more than 300 new ones and modernizes about 1600 existing base stations throughout Azerbaijan.
