Speaking at the closure of the events, the chairman of the State Agency for Tourism Fuad Nagiyev brought to the attention of the participants that as a result of the special efforts of Azerbaijan, as the host country COP29, the topic of tourism was first included in the climate.

He expressed confidence that COP29, which emphasizes the role of the tourist sector in the fight against climate change, will create a strong legacy for the next COP events and the number of countries that have joined the declaration will increase.

General Secretary of the World Tourist Organization, UN Zurab Pololikashvili during the speech, noted the significance of joint efforts to combat climate change, the Cop29 Baku declaration on the improvement of climatic actions in the tourist sector ”and supporting the Glazgovo declaration as a turning point for the moment for the sector.

“Together we must ensure that tourism becomes the driving force of not only economic growth, but also environmental protection and global solidarity,” he added.
