President Azal Jahangir Askerov met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Jordan in Azerbaijan themselves by Assem Goshom. The meeting took place an exchange of views on the agenda of mutual cooperation between Azerbaijan and Jordan in the field of civil aviation, the parties noted the high effectiveness of the measures taken to combat COVID-19 pandemic. This is stated in the press service of the Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC.
According to the report, the parties also discussed the possibility of starting flights between the two countries.
Jahangir Askerov noted that flights between Baku and Amman should have started at the end of May 2020, the relevant agreement was achieved in December 2019. However, the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the implementation of these plans.
According to him, the opening of direct air traffic will strengthen the friendly links between countries, will create new opportunities for entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan and Jordan in all areas, including trade and tourism.
Ambassador of Jordan themselves, Assem Gosh, expressed confidence that the new flight would cause great interest among citizens of both countries and will provide greater strengthening of good-neighborly ties between the countries.
