Baku and Ankara discuss joint cooperation in field of food security

Delegation led by the Chairman of the Food Security Agency of Azerbaijan Goshgar Tahmazli is on an official visit to Turkey. As part of the visit, the delegation met with the Minister of Agriculture and Lesstick Turkey.

According to HAQQIN.AZ at the institute, during the meeting to further expand cooperation between the two food security countries, an exchange of views took place on improving the regulatory framework, accelerating the process of signing the parties to cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the region Veterinary and cooperation agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the field of protection and quarantine of plants.

Touching on the more efficient organization of work in Azerbaijan in the field of animal health and veterinary control, as well as the establishment of an animal identification system, Tahmazli stressed that co-cooperation in the field of food security, animal and plant health will continue to expand.

The Minister of Agriculture and Foresting of Turkey Bekir Pakdeirli noted that in order to expand trade relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey in the sphere of food and agricultural products between the relevant structures of the two countries, effective cooperation has been established.

Parties discussed compliance with electronic systems to speed up the processes of import control and export of food products and recognition of electronic certificates, as well as studying the experience of Turkey in the field of food tracking. During the meeting, an exchange of views on cooperation in the field of creating free diseases of animal diseases in areas liberated from under occupation was also considered, and the possibilities of exporting live animals and animal products to Turkey, applying special quarantine procedures before creating free diseases of the zone .

As part of the meeting, an agreement was signed between the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey on food security cooperation, the Declaration of intent on cooperation between the Azerbaijani Food Security Agency and the Ministry of Agriculture and Foresting of Turkey on Food Security Cooperation, as well as a joint cooperation plan in the field of food security and a number of other memorandants and agreements.
