On January 18, Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov met with the new Greece Ambassador to Azerbaijan Christ Kapodistrium, the Foreign Ministry of Armena said in a message
During the meeting, the ambassador handed the Minister a copy of his credentials.
Bayramov congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and wished him success in further activities.
The meeting discussed a number of issues of the agenda of bilateral cooperation, interaction in political, economic, energy, humanitarian, educational, tourist and other areas, as well as issues of cooperation on multilateral areas.
Bayramov mentioned his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Nikos Dendias in the cities of Stockholm and Lodes as part of the meetings of the Council of OSCE ministers and noted the need to continue the political dialogue between the two countries. He emphasized the importance of meeting the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with the Prime Minister of Greece Kiriakos Mitsikitisis on October 1 last year as part of the opening ceremony of the Greco-Bulgarian gas interprefector.
The head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry informed the interlocutor in detail about the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, world building, steps and initiatives taken in this direction Azerbaijan, carried out in the liberated territories of the restoration and construction work, as well as the obstacles and non -constructive positions of Armenia within the specified area of these processes.
In turn, Capodistria emphasized that during its diplomatic activity it would make every effort to expand cooperation between the two countries.
The ambassador noted that there is great potential for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Greece, expressed the importance of expanding cooperation between countries in the field of tourism, energy, economics, transport, etc.
During the meeting, an exchange of views on cooperation under international organizations and other issues representing mutual interest also took place during the meeting.
