The views of the President of France Emmanuel Macron, directed against Azerbaijan in the indicated interview, directed mainly to the internal audience, completely one -sided and openly protecting Armenia, are unacceptable, and we reject the baseless accusations expressed by the head of the French state against Azerbaijan.
This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
“President of France is the head of state who did not say a word about the almost 30-year occupation by Armenia of Azerbaijani territories, illegal activities on these lands, a gross violation of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the rights of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis, neglect of the fundamental principles of international law, non-fulfillment UN Security Council resolutions, despite the fact that its country is the co -chair of the Minsk group. The President of France, unfortunately, is still silent about the failure to fulfill the provisions of a tripartite statement, as well as that, laying mines on the territory of Azerbaijan, it threatens security in the security in Azerbaijan region.
Azerbaijan, in turn, taking into account the inability of the Minsk group at the moment, did not abandon the intermediary initiatives of the President of France in the process of normalizing relations between the two countries, and today, with the mediation of Macron, four -sided meetings took place on February 4, 2022 and October 6, 2022. However, the views expressed by the President of France regarding Azerbaijan cast doubt on the neutrality and impartiality of his intermediary efforts.
Against the background of Azerbaijan’s efforts to ensure peace, stability and development in the region and normalization of relations based on compliance with the principles of international law, the unilateral position of France and baseless accusations force to revise the intermediary efforts of this country, ”the AR Foreign Ministry said in a message
