If Armenia is interested in opening regional communications, then it should take practical steps in this direction.
This was said by the press secretary of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Ayhan Gadjizade, commenting on the statements of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikola Pashinyan about transport communications.
“Armenia, which has been holding the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan for almost 30 years under the occupation and blocked the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, after a 44 -day war did not make a positive contribution to the process of opening communications in the region,” said the diplomat.
He emphasized that despite Armenia, the obligations to unlock transport communications connecting the Western regions of Azerbaijan with Nakhchyan, Yerevan still has not fulfilled them.
“offering long and complex routes that are difficult to implement in practice, Armenia is trying to divert attention from the process and his obligations. If Yerevan is really interested in opening communications, he must not evade fulfillment of obligations, but take practical steps corresponding to the new realities in the region,” said a representative of the Azerbaijani Foreign Department.
