Baku discussed normalization between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov met on June 28 with a visit to Baku assistant US Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia James O’Braien. This is stated in the message of the press service of the Foreign Ministry of AR.

The issues of bilateral and multilateral agendas of cooperation between countries, the current state and prospects of the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia are discussed, as well as regional issues.

The importance of developing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States in a number of directions in the framework of historical ties and mutual interests was noted.

Bayramov informed the American side of the situation in the region in the post -conflict period and negotiations on a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

He emphasized that Azerbaijan, as the initiator of the main elements of the peaceful process with Armenia, is interested in establishing peace and stability in the region.

Azerbaijan Foreign Minister drew the attention of the interlocutor that, despite the significant progress in the project, there is a need to refuse Armenia from the claims to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, as well as the amendments to the Constitution, which are preserved in its constitution and legislative acts of claims and legislative acts .

In addition, it is stated that the policy of the militarization of Armenia does not serve the world and stability in the region.

During the meeting, an exchange of views was held on other bilateral and regional issues representing mutual interest.
