Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov, as part of a visit to the Czech Republic, discussed a number of issues of mutual interest with the Czech colleague Yan Lipavsky.
According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Bayramov and Lipavsky met in a narrow format, after which a meeting was held in an expanded composition with the participation of delegations of both parties.
During the meetings, the issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic in the political, economic, energy, humanitarian and other areas were discussed, as well as an exchange of views on the latest regional and international events.
The Foreign Ministry noted that the Azerbaijani-Chesh ties of strategic partnership are based on the norms and principles of international law, including the principle of respect for territorial integrity, the sovereignty of each other and the inviolability of international recognized boundaries.
It was emphasized that the political dialogue between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic, mutual visits and contacts of representatives at the level of states, governments and parliaments gave impulse to the development of our connections both within the framework of bilateral and multilateral platforms. In addition, the importance of further activation of the work of the bilateral economic commission was noted.
The meetings said that the 29th session of the conference of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in our country this year, creates additional opportunities for the Azerbaijani-Chesh partnership.
The satisfaction of the current level of development of Azerbaijani-Chesh trade and economic ties is expressed, the importance of increasing the volume of mutual investments and diversification of existing areas of cooperation to give these relations of greater stability is emphasized.
In this regard, an exchange of views on such issues as the addition of the components existing between the two countries in the energy sector was held such as green and renewable energy, the participation of Czech investors in large-scale construction projects carried out on the territories of Azerbaijan, which are freed from the occupation, The use by Czech transit and logistics companies provided by the average corridor passing through Azerbaijan and located in the country by the ALATIST FREE ECONOMIC Zone.
The parties expressed unanimouses on the continuation and further deepening of successful cooperation in the humanitarian, educational, cultural, tourist spheres, as well as in the field of youth and sports.
Czech delegation provided detailed information about the post -conflict situation in the region, the mine threat, as well as the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
During the meetings, other issues were discussed, representing mutual interest.
