The memorial to the Turkish soldiers in the Alley of the Shahids in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, was held on the occasion of the days of memory of fallen heroes and anniversary of the Victory in the Battle of Chanaccal.
The event was attended by Turkish Ambassador to Baku Jahit Bagdzhi, a military attache at the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan Soner Bruchoglu, representatives of Turkish structures and organizations operating in Baku.
The participants in the ceremony honored the memory of the heroes of Chanakkale with a minute of silence. Then the state hymns of Azerbaijan and Turkey sounded.
Bagdzhi ambassador left a record in the memorial book of the memorial. He emphasized that the glorious victory in Chanakkal also became a source of courage and inspiration in the liberation war of the Turkish people. He also added that the participation of Turkish warriors in the struggle for the independence of Azerbaijan “will forever retain their place in the history and hearts of people.”
“The struggle that we fought together in Anatolia and in many parts of the Caucasus is the basis of the thesis” Two states – one people. “The unity of our destinies also forms the basis of the Shushinsky declaration adopted in 2021, which raised our special relations to the level allied, ”the ambassador wrote.
Losing flowers to the memorial of the Turkish soldiers, Bagdzhi and the delegation accompanying it visited the Chekhids alley, where the victims of the tragedy on January 20 were buried.
In Turkey on Monday, March 18, the 109th anniversary of the Victory in the Battle of Chanackal, one of the largest and bloody battles of the First World War, is celebrated.
