In Baku on Friday, January 17, trials in criminal cases against representatives of the former Armenian separatist regime in Karabakh accused of war crimes will start. Among the accused is the so -called “state -owned” separatists Ruben Vardanyan.
court sessions will be held in the Baku court complex in the village of Govsan. First of all, a criminal case against 15 people will be considered, including Arkady Gukasyan, Araika Harutyunyan, Bako Sahakyan and others, 2,548 episodes of crimes.
The trial includes the combined cases regarding crimes committed from October 1987 to April 2024. The defendants were charged with many articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, including planning and conducting an aggressive war, genocide, terrorism, torture and other crimes.
Each of the defendants was provided with the right to defense, the use of the language that he speaks, and other procedural rights.
In addition, a preliminary meeting in the case of Ruben Vardanyan will be held during the day, who also charges of crimes related to war, terror and violation of international law.
Both cases are in the proceedings of the chairman of the Baku military court of Zeynal Agayev.
