Baku: Yerevan Refused To Meet Leaders Of Azerbaijan And Armenia In London

, as part of the Summit of the European Political Community in London, Yerevan refused to meet between the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. This was stated by Assistant President Azerbaijan Hikmet Gadzhiev in an interview with the local agency report.

“UK, as a country hosting the Summit of the” European Political Community “, made a proposal for such a meeting. It was proposed to hold it in the format of the meeting of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Prime Minister of Armenia, held in the fields of the Munich Security Conference. Then German Chancellor Olaf Sholts, in the framework of the Munich Security Conference, participated at the beginning of the meeting between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, and then the meeting continued in the bilateral format.

According to Gadzhiev, but the Armenian side refused the meeting.

“It was planned to participate in the Prime Minister of Great Britain at the beginning of the meeting, and then it would continue between Azerbaijan and Armenia in a double -sided format. We regard Armenia’s refusal from this meeting as a manifestation of its intention to depart from dialogue and promotion of a peaceful agenda,” he emphasized .

Gadzhiev said that it is completely incomprehensible why Armenia, who speaks of the world on various platforms, refuses a meeting that would contribute to the promotion of a peaceful agenda.

“The international community itself must evaluate the fact that Armenia instead of appreciates and promoting opportunities for dialogue, refuses this. We, for our part, highly appreciate the peaceful initiative of Great Britain,” he added.
