Bar Association and State Committee for Refugees have agreed to cooperate

The State Committee on Refugees and Forced Migrants signed a memorandum of cooperation with a college of lawyers. Signatures under the documents were set by the chairman of the State Committee, Rovshan Rzaev and chairman of the Bar Association Anar Bagirov.

The Chairman of the State Committee said that the solution to the problems of refugees and forced immigrants in Azerbaijan was declared one of the priority areas of social policy. Work is underway in the direction of improving the housing and material status of this category of the population, increasing employment.

It was noted that the legal reforms carried out in Azerbaijan create conditions for ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens at a high level. Protection of the rights of refugees and forced immigrants, ensuring their legitimate interests is an important element of state policy. As a result of the liberation from the occupation of Azerbaijani territories, conditions were created for the return of forced immigrants to their native lands – using rights based on international norms.

Anar Bagirov, in turn, said that the protection of the rights of refugees and forced immigrants, who are vulnerable categories of the population, occupies an important place in the activities of the board. He recalled that with the participation of college members in several settlements where forced immigrants were temporarily resettled, measures were held to provide legal assistance. According to Bagirov, targeted work is underway to ensure voluntary, safe and worthy return of immigrants to their native places.

At the event, a presentation dedicated to the five -year activities of the Bar Association was presented. After the chairman of the State Committee, the anniversary breast sign “100th anniversary of the Bar of Azerbaijani” was awarded.

, within the framework of the memorandum signed by the Parties, it is provided for the organization of free legal assistance and right -proof measures for forced immigrants, joint participation in resolving issues relevant to the Company within the framework of existing powers, as well as cooperation in international projects.
