Syrian President Bashar Assad, during a meeting with a special envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin Alexander Lavrentiev, spoke about the Syrian-Turkish relations.
Sana’s information agency, owned by the Syrian regime, reported that Assad met Lavrentiev.
“Syria is open to all initiatives for the development of Syrian -Turkish relations on the basis of sovereignty over the entire territory of the country and the fight against terrorism and terrorist organizations,” the report said.
Lavrentiev, for his part, noted that Russia supports all initiatives for the development of Syrian -Turkish relations: “We see that the conditions for the success of mediation are now favorable than ever. Russia is ready to work on promoting negotiations. The goal is to succeed in restoring relations between Syria and Turkey “.
