Russian President Vladimir Putin made a “big mistake”, deciding to suspend Moscow’s participation in a joint agreement with Washington to reduce strategic offensive weapons (START-3), US President Joe Biden said, Associated Press.
The Agency notes that this is the first commentary of the American leader in connection with the decision of Moscow under a nuclear missile agreement. On the eve of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called the suspension of Russia’s participation in the “irresponsible” agreement and stated that Washington was ready to discuss with Moscow the issue of restrictions on weapons.
Putin announced the suspension of Russia’s participation in the START-3 on the eve of February 21, during the message to the Federal Assembly. February 22, the corresponding bill approved the State Duma and the Federation Council.
