The Bayractar Mosque on the territory of the Greek administration of the South Cyprus was attacked twice within a week.
According to the information of the authorities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRK), on January 12, two armed men wounded one person and damaged the Bayractar Mosque, after which they disappeared from the scene.
According to the employees of the mosque, despite their statement to the Greek side of the attack, no measures were taken.
The attackers armed with knives returned to the Bayractar mosque on January 19 and damaged the inner part of the mosque.
The attackers wounded one of the visitors of the mosque who tried to stop them.
After the receipt of complaints, offenders, they were detained.
Meanwhile, the health status of the two people who suffered as a result of attacks went recovering.
Mustafa Ozzhan, a representative of the Cyprus Funds (Evkaf), said that the Bayractar mosque was attacked by two armed criminals within a week.
