Baku is ready to negotiate with Yerevan to conclude a peace treaty, said the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jahun Bayramov at an event at the Foreign Ministry dedicated to November 8 – Victory Day.
“Azerbaijan is committed to a peaceful agenda. We believe that after the summites in Prague (October 6) and Sochi (October 31), it is necessary to continue negotiations under a peace treaty,” said Bayramov.
According to him, Azerbaijan immediately after the signing of a tripartite statement of November 10, 2020 took steps as part of a peaceful agenda. Bayramov noted that the Azerbaijani side handed over to Armenia the body of more than 1,700 Armenian troops, however, information about the fate of 4,000 Azerbaijanis who disappeared during the first Karabakh war is still not.
“Unfortunately, the process is observed. The Armenian side does not agree to the normalization of relations, we do not see serious steps. Armenian formations have not yet been completely withdrawn from the territory of Azerbaijan, a mine threat is still completely withdrawn, Armenia did not provide accurate Maps of minefields. In the summer of this year, it turned out that Armenia set mines around Lachin. This is evidence that Armenia continues to provocation, ”the minister said.
