Bayramov: At negotiations in Washington, we will discuss peace treaty

At a meeting with the US Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Washington, it is planned to discuss a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jayhun Bayramov.

It was previously reported that in the coming days in Washington there will be a tripartite meeting in the format of Bayram-Mirzoyan-Klinken.

“This initiative came from Anthony Blinken. The Azerbaijani side gave her consent. Of course, there are several issues on the agenda, in particular a peace agreement,” Bayramov told reporters.

The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan recalled that at a meeting on October 2 in Geneva Baku, “more advanced elements of a peace treaty based on five basic principles” handed over to Yerevan. He noted that at a meeting of the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia on October 2 in Geneva Baku, to Yerevan “more advanced elements of a peaceful agreement based on five basic principles”.

“The Armenian side said that she would study that she needs extra time. I think that during the meeting (in Washington) we will be able to discuss this,” Bayramov said.
