Bayramov: Baku supports peaceful settlement of Palestinian-Israeli conflict

The Palestinian issue was resolved in accordance with international legal norms, the Charter of the United Nations (UN) and the relevant resolutions.

This was stated at the International Conference of the League of the Arab states “Support for the city of GUDS (Jerusalem) and its population” In Cairo, Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov, the AR Foreign Ministry said in a statement

The Minister noted the importance of continuing joint diplomatic efforts to achieve international consensus in solving the Palestinian issue.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan supports the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the model of the two states and expressed confidence that the defense of Jerusalem, where the shrines of the three religions are located, will contribute to the peaceful coexistence of the population here in the future.

As an example of Azerbaijan of Islamic solidarity in the Palestinian issue, the Minister recalled the holding of many international conferences in the country to assist Palestine, as well as the constant support of the Middle Eastern agency of the UN to help Palestinian refugees and the organization of work (UNRWA) in the struggle against Covid pandemic -19.

The head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Department invited the conference participants to take part in the Summit of the Contact Group of the Non-Control, which will be held in Baku in March and will be dedicated to the fight against Covid-19. According to him, this event will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss global recovery in the postpandemic period.
