Azerbaijan demands that Ruben Vardanyan leave Karabakh, said Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jaykhun Bayramov at a press conference following negotiations with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Russian media reports.
“The activities of Vardanyan are criminally approved. We believe that this should be put an end,” said Bayramov.
The head of the department also added: “The sooner this person leaves this region, the better it will be for everyone, first of all, the local population suffers from this.”
He called Vardanyan a “alien element” for the region.
In turn, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Ruben Vardanyan has nothing to do with Russia.
“At the request of Vardanyan, the President of Russia deprived him of citizenship. His trip to Karabakh has no connection with Russia,” Lavrov emphasized.
