Armenia did not accept Baku’s proposal for the installation of checkpoints on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, said the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jahun Bayramov, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
“Official Yerevan did not consider the proposal (Baku) about the opening of the checkpoint on the conditional Azerbaijani-Armenian border,” Bayramov told reporters on Friday.
At the same time, he emphasized that Armenia rejected this proposal without indicating any explanation. According to him, this fact shows that Yerevan is not interested in compliance with his obligations within the framework of a tripartite statement (on November 10, 2020).
Bayramov added that Armenia also evades negotiations with Azerbaijan.
The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan emphasized that over the past two years, the Armenian side has repeatedly violated the agreements regarding the use of the Lachinsky road.
