Belarus and Thailand announced interest in expanding multifaceted cooperation, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reports.
On the eve of the Foreign Ministry, the first round of consultations was held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Thailand Kingdom Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the level of heads of political departments.
The Belarusian side at the negotiations was headed by the head of the Main Directorate of Asia, Africa and Latin America Dmitry Mironchik, Thai – CEO of the Department of European Affairs Kronganit Ragcharon.
The Thai delegation was adopted by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Yevgeny Shestakov. At the meeting, the parties confirmed the mutual interest in expanding the Belarusian-Thai cooperation, including by regular conducting intermid consultations.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed the entire range of issues of Belarusian-Thai relations, including the development of political dialogue, buildup mutual trade, expansion of the contract framework, bilateral interaction within the framework of international organizations, cooperation with the ASEAN and the EAEU, promoting direct bilateral contacts in areas of tourism, culture and other humanitarian regions.
The parties stated the presence of wide opportunities to activate relations between Belarus and Thailand and outlined plans for interaction for the near future.
