The opening ceremony of the CSTO exercises was held on Friday, September 1, in the Brest Fortress.
The exercises will be held on the territory of Belarus from the first to sixth of September.
In general, it is planned to conduct five joint and special exercises. The main goal of the maneuvers “Battle Brotherhood – 2023” is to improve the coordination and coherence of the work of the governing bodies during the preparation and conduct of joint operations.
It is reported that military personnel of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan will take part in the exercises. In total, more than 2.5 thousand military and more than 500 weapons, military and special equipment were announced for participation.
Earlier, the CSTO reported that the exercises in Belarus were not directed against third countries.
At the moment, the CSTO includes: Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
