The loading of the humanitarian cargo took place on the basis of the Republican special purpose of the EMERCOM Zubyr EMERCOM under the coordination of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The cargo is planned to be delivered by road to the city of St. Petersburg, from where the assistance will go to the seaport of the city of Mombas – to the south of Kenya.

The department reminded that last year Kenya was covered by large -scale floods and flooding caused by heavy rains, having a serious negative impact on the country’s economy and social sphere.

Due to the consequences of the elements, over 290 people died in Kenya, 188 were injured. More than 278 thousand people were forced to leave their homes. A total of more than 400 thousand people are affected by the results of the elements.
