The funeral of President Iran Ebrahim Raisi will be held on May 23 in his hometown of Mashhead in the north-east of the country.

On board were also the Governor of the Province of East Azerbaijan Malik Rahmati, the Imam of Tabriz Ayatollah Muhammad Ali al-Khash, as well as two high-ranking officials from the Corps of the Iranian Revolution (KSIR) and three crew members. There are no survivors. The wreckage of the helicopter was discovered after 15 hours of search and rescue operations.
