The interaction of Russia and Kazakhstan is built on the basis of allied and strategic partnership, being the most important factor in maintaining stability in Central Asia. This was stated by Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov at a meeting with the Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Ruslan Zhaksylykov in Almaty, where he arrived to participate in a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the Organization of the Organization of Collective Security (CSTO).
“Kazakhstan is an ally and strategic partner of Russia. The minister noted that the situation in the world is extremely complicated, and it tends to further complicate, including in the Central Asian region.
According to Andrei Belousov, the Russian military department highly assess the achieved level of relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of multilateral structures, in particular, through the CSTO line. The work is built very high quality, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation noted, there are no problems, the issues arising are quite successfully resolved in the working order.
The main areas of bilateral cooperation, he called the improvement of the Unified Regional Air Defense System of Russia and Kazakhstan, the exchange of experience on the activities of the Armed Forces, ensuring the functioning of the Russian testing grounds in the Republic of the Russian Ministry of Defense, military-technical cooperation and training.
The head of the Russian military department proposed to discuss at the meeting the current issues of the partnership of the two countries in the military sphere and outline ways to develop it.
In turn, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan reported that the parties discussed the current aspects of bilateral military cooperation, affecting the issues of training and conducting joint events, including exercises as part of an organization of collective security agreement.
Ruslan Zhaksylykov informed the interlocutor about the holding of the Birlestik exercise in the western of Kazakhstan. According to his plan, military contingents of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will jointly work out educational and combat tasks related to the localization of armed conflict and counteracting illegal formation.
