In Germany, they apologized to Azerbaijan for the publication posted on the page of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier on the social network.
In a letter to the head of the Administration of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Digner addressed to the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Gadzhiev, it is noted that the wrong flag and an accompanying text related to one of the regions of Azerbaijan were published on the social networks of the President of Germany.
“As soon as the error was discovered, the corresponding publication was immediately deleted. The post was published as a result of a technical error and does not matter in the framework of the well -known position of Germany regarding the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. I am very upset by the mistake and would like to make my sincere apologies for the wrong impression that the above publication made for some people in Azerbaijan, ”is emphasized in a letter.
Durta noted that the upcoming visit by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan is designed to strengthen the Azerbaijani-German partnership and support the current peace process in the region.
On Monday, March 31, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs caused Germany Ambassador to Baku Ralph Khorlemann, which was expressed by a decisive protest in connection with the publication of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany as part of his visit to the Armenia of the Image of the Elassical Regime, created in the previously occupied territories Azerbaijan.
The Foreign Ministry regarded this as an encroachment on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.
The department emphasized that this open political provocation during a visit to the region is unacceptable and the German side should bring public apologies for this post.
The Foreign Ministry also noted that this publication of the President of Germany is contrary to statements about the support of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, and also is contrary to the ongoing peaceful process.
