Remote work has become a way to receive money for a huge number of people because of a pandemic. The British financial technology company Tide decided to find out in which countries the best to live and work freelancers and digital nomads, transfers Tengritravel.
In drawing up the rating, eight different factors were taken into account: the quality of life or the index of happiness, the speed and accessibility of the Internet, the level of legal protection, the demand of freelancers in the market, the presence of carcard-spaces for freelancers, the cost of living, gender gap payment.
According to the rating, the top ten of the best countries for freelancers was headed by Singapore. Here is the best high-speed Internet, the greatest demand for freelancers, as well as the greatest number of coworkins per capita. In second place – New Zealand. Here more expensive Internet, but it is compensated by good indicators of the index of happiness and gender gap in remuneration. Third place – Spain. The advantage of this country for freelancers is a much more affordable cost of life than in the previous two.
The company also presented the rating of the worst countries for freelancers. These countries have received low estimates for most or all indicators. On the first line was Japan. According to the Company, this is due to the very low demands of freelancers, low level of legal protection of employees and a large gender break in wages.
In second place – China. Despite the fact that the cost of living in this country is very affordable, the demand for remote work here is small here, and the happiness index is low. The third place in Italy, countries with bad indicators of the quality of the Internet and the level of protection of the rights of hired workers.
It is noteworthy that the first place in the ranking of the cheapest Internet was taken by the CIS country – Russia. Price – 7.50 dollars per month. In second place – China, where for month users pay 12.26 dollars. Third place – Lithuania and 13.35 dollars per month.
