US President Joe Biden announced the creation of the first one of his kind of administration department to prevent violence with firearms. The American leader announced this at a press conference in the White House.
According to Biden, the head of the department was appointed US Vice President Kamal Harris.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 500 mass executions occurred in the United States, and more than 30 thousand people died due to violence with firearms, the US president noted.
Management was created to prevent violence with firearms, as well as to support families affected by mass executions and violence using firearms in different states.
According to the American website The Gun Violence Archive (an archive of violence using firearms), in 2022 about 645 mass executions occurred in the United States, and in 2021- 690.
