Biden Condemned Missile Shelling Of Okhmatdet Children’s Hospital In Kyiv

US President Joe Biden condemned the Okhmatdet children’s hospital in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Monday, July 8.

“Russian missile strikes, as a result of which dozens of Ukrainian civilians died, and also caused damage and sacrifices in the largest children’s hospital in Kyiv, are a terrifying reminder of the cruelty of Russia,” said Bayden.

The US leader noted that Washington and his NATO allies will announce this week about new measures to strengthen the air defense of Ukraine.

“It is extremely important that the world continues to support Ukraine at this important moment, and that we do not ignore Russian aggression,” he stressed.

On the morning of July 8, Ukrainian cities were subjected to intensive missile strikes. According to the Ukrainian side, missile strikes on the Ukrainian civil infrastructure were made from the Russian side.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the children’s hospital was damaged yesterday as a result of an intensive missile strike in the capital of Kyiv.

Zelensky noted that in addition to Kyiv, in the cities of the Dnieper, Krivoy Rog, Slavyansk and Kramatorsk was released more than 40 different missiles.

Kyiv mayor Vitaly Klitschko said that the Okhmatdet children’s hospital suffered as a result of the rocket firing of the Russian army.

The head of the Kyiv city military department, Sergei Popko, also stated that the sanatorium was injured in the Dnipropetrovsk district of Kyiv, and the building was partially destroyed.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko said that the number of deaths of missile strikes increased to 36, and the number of wounded – to 166.
