During a meeting with Macron, Biden acknowledged that the actions of the United States in a situation with submarines were “clumsy”. “I had the impression that France had been informed for a long time that the agreement would not take place,” he said.
The American leader stressed that the United States has no more ancient and more faithful ally than France. Macron, in turn, stated that Paris and Washington were in the process of restoring confidence, and now “you need to look into the future.”
