US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan talked with the Iranian-American journalist and human rights activist Masikh Alinejad and expressed concern about her security after the incident with the arrest of Azerbaijani Khalid Mehtiev near her house in New York.
Sullivan said that US President Joe Biden will continue to receive updated information about the situation around this case, and added that the White House will continue to protect its citizens and dissidents from threats from Iran.
“The US government will use all the tools at its disposal to eliminate and contain threats from Iran, including those who are aimed at US citizens and dissidents living in the United States,” said the representative of the Biden administration.
We recall that last week in the United States, during observations in front of the house of the famous Iranian dissident and the woman’s rights fighter, Masikh Alinejad in the Brooklysky district of New York, a citizen of Azerbaijan, 23-year-old Khalid Mekhtiev was arrested.
