The USA must sell Turkey F-16 fighters, as well as to modernize them, said US President Joe Biden, speaking at a press conference in Madrid following the results of the NATO summit, TASS reports.
Biden asked what assurances about the supply of F-16 he gave to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “I said what I said in December. We should sell them F -16 and also upgrade these planes. It’s not in our interests not to do this,” Biden answered, recalling that such transactions should approve the US Congress.
The bilateral meeting of the leaders of the United States and Turkey took place on Wednesday on the fields of the NATO summit.
