Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and US Presidential Assistant for National Security Jake Sullivan held a telephone conversation. The website of the Russian Security Council reports that the telephone conversation between Patrushev and Sullivan took place on March 4 at the initiative of the American side.
“The prospects of Russian-American cooperation on security and strategic stability issues were discussed,” TASS quotes a message.
It is noted that this is Patrushev’s second contact with Sullivan, who took up a post in the administration of US President Joe Biden. They first spoke at the end of January, a few days after Biden took office. Then Patrushev and Sullivan discussed the extension of the Treaty on the Reduction of Strategic Offensive Arms (START, START-3) and the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of security.
